Avatars:
Avatars are limited to 80 pixels in width and 80 pixels in height.

Avatars are limited to 10KB or smaller.
When I try to change my avatar the auto message says it has to 9KiB. Which is it?

What happened to the larger sized avatars? I believe they used to be around 15kb.

I dunno, but 10Kb is plenty for an 80x80 image.

Yeah, I was pretty sure it was about 15kb since my old avatars that have transparency were over 10kb but less than 15kb.

You could always save as a PNG-8 for transparent avatars like my lemon one which is under 10KB, and saved as a PNG-8

Still, the reduction in size is drastic compared to other common formats with minimal quality loss.

+1 PNG

Also, if you have photoshop, use "save for web".
