Smilies from other forums?

Is somebody flaming or causing problems? Is there a post that is too large for content? Moderators will check here often to discover problems quickly.

Last time I used a smiley from another forum, it got erased. Why are we not allowed to use smilies from other boards, if they are appropriate? I think this should definitely be allowed under certain circumstances.
