B/S/T Forum?

Post by kibito87 »

Just came to my attention. How's about a Buy/Trade/Sell forum? I think that would be a nice addition. I'm sure some people around here would like to do some of this. What do you guys think?

I think the demand for it may be a little low.
But then again, we have the 'Other Modding' boards now..

Yeah, I can see that happening. On the other side, it may work out a little bit for some. In that I mean, people here seem a bit more reliable than some random dude you met via another site but only sent one message to. But I don't see it really hurting anything.

Would a thread in the Café not suffice for this kind of thing?

Yeah, I think a Cafe thread would be peachy.

I think a thread would be a bit confusing. You would have multiple people seeing if anybody would like to buy something from them or trade in one thread which, in turn, would lead to people not being able to find everything being sold or traded. A category could have people post topics where in the title would say "selling such and such" instead of it all being in the same thread leading to confusion.

Well as I've learnt from two out of five of the current 'Other modding' forums, just because a few people say they'll use a forum, doesn't mean they will. How about this, you make a thread in the Cafe for said subject, if it's popular, and warrants an actual forum, I'll go straight ahead and make one. How does that sound, I think that's fair.

I like this idea. Don't forget to put rules in the topic.

We should have a Rock Band Forum, because Rock Band is the best game ever made...

I don't know why, but I'm getting the impression Iron_Forge likes Rock Band. I just can't put my finger on it.

Ok. I'll go ahead and make the topic. I wasn't looking for this to be a popular thread though. These types of threads are optional and useful at times...not constantly. You find me a popular buy sell and trade thread and then i'll retract that statement...besides xbox-scene's because their site is crammed with people. If that's what it takes i'll start one anyways.

I see Kody's post a valid point. If you think about it, having one topic with multiple users trying to do business with each other...can seem to be very cluttered and extremely inconvenient. With an entire forum dedicated to it, multiple users can be doing business with each other while keeping it cleanly inside of their own personal thread. I personally would rather not have to dig through each post to find whether or not somebody is interested, selling price, buying price, trades...I just see one topic being a gigantic cluster fuck of irritation. But then again, this is the way I personally am seeing it.

I'll do what you ask Geo and we'll see how that goes...unless you change your mind before it takes off.

I agree Kody has a valid argument, wholeheartedly. But this is about whether or not an entire forum for it would be... necessary. Ordinarily I may have agreed to just giving it a try, but as I found with some of the 'Other Modding' forums, particularly 'Crysis' just because a few people say "Yeah that's a good idea I mod crysis" doesn't mean they will actually use the forum.

I hope you can see where I'm coming from. If the thread gets to the point where there's enough users to make it confusing, I'll make a forum. :)
