im not going to say any names because then I will just have to fight back using big words and sentences to try and sound smart and make a point, But my concern is simple, Since when did staff higher than the members?

I remember when staff were just members who could be trusted and admins picked staff based off of their actions on the site and not who can delete the most flames and double posts or clear the most spam topics and lock the most shit

Its really sad to see what this site is coming to, and I do not want to put anyone on the spot but I have spoken with someone who is extremely respectable in this community and he agrees with me

Im posting because I want to help make this site a better place, Not by policing people or having an ego trip but by doing things that actual staff was made to do, and thats help people, So many staff members think that they have the right to hurt peoples feelings and give too harsh of critique and it really sucks to see what this site was and what it is now

I know I wont become staff, only because most of the staff does not like me. But I am talking to the admins, I really want to have a shot to make this site better I really hope you guys read this and consider me

I have talked to Locke numerous times about this, All I want to do is make the site better, Not by telling people that their artwork/mods suck and they should die, But by helping people to create better content and help people with day to day problems thats what a staff should do, Thats what they used to do...

Please do find me an example where a staff member has said that.

We only get tense with members when they break rules that are placed right in front of them.

Or...because we already have way too many staff members who are more than capable of fulfilling the duties needed (and some that aren't).

Going around pussy footing isn't going to help. If you have a problem with a specific staff member, just post their name. Dan did it in a topic right below this one and it was handled fine.

The staff does help people, and since it's pretty obvious you're talking about Veegie...his criticism is just different. We're still a community and while his words may seem harsh, he has no malicious intent. It's just that he has a very dry sense of humor which most people don't pick up on right away.

I've seen ScottyGEE, iGeo and Detox help in tons of modding fields whether it be criticism or tutorials. Tural and Veegie help people in their rendering fields, and their knowledge of the Halo-verse. Many people here wouldn't be as graphically advanced as they are without the help of people like Ravn, Cuda, jks, or Ombre. I could keep describing situations such as these for much longer, but I think you get the idea.

Staff members are picked based on their actions, and most (if not all) of the members here are pretty active and well-known members of the community. At one point or another they've all contributed to this site. The whole "policing" thing is our job, as the old saying goes...it's a dirty job but someone's gotta do it.

But from what I heard from someone YOU answer to, Staff are encouraged to give constructive criticism.

Please address the part I posted about you wanting to be staff for a title. That's all you want. You said staff should just be members who don't do staff actions. You said being staff shouldn't have anything to do with locking, deleting, etc. You do not need to be staff to do what you want to do. If you want to help people, go out and help them. Nobody's stopping you.

I don't know what you're getting at about the constructive criticism and the site "dying." Most of the time, if a comment is harsh, it usually still offers a clear reason for why the comment is being posted. I can't think of a time when a staff member just flat out said "It sucks and you should die." Please enlighten us.

That comment wasn't meant to be rude, I apologize if it came off that way. It was not my intention. I suppose I could have worded it differently, had I been aware it was taken as rude, I would have done so.

So report them? We can't be everywhere at once (I've tried it before, it's hard). We miss posts here and there, and the whole point of the report function is so you can make sure that we see those.

Nobody will ever be banned for speaking out against something they don't agree with. If they don't break rules (Don't come in and post things like "Fuck staff, I hate you all" and so on), they have nothing to fear. If they choose to claim they fear staff as an excuse to not post, then the only people losing out are them.

needs less ripped h2 models randomly tossed in a square. the buildings need serious revision and reskinning. don't be afraid to use more polygons than what you have there. it's entirely too low poly. i really don't see any gameplay there yet, but keep working on it. perhaps 3 more of these connected via tunnels and bridges would be more interesting.

2)i'm finding myself disliking it more and more. it really seems like a bunch of patched together crap now.

I was thinking of someone else when I first posted.

Im going to make a very true point, Xbox7887 was a great modder, I dont think there will ever be anyone else with his talent. He left halomods because of the reasons I have stated in this topic, I could name countless modders who have left this community im one of the few that are staying just in hope that I can make a difference but its becoming clear to me that my opinion isnt even worth the title of this topic...
