"Outstanding" Mods

Why has it been so hard to get into Oustanding? There are so many mods that deserved to be moved instantly but never did. But seriously, Soccer Mounds did not deserve to be in there. C'mon now...I've even won MOTM and that didn't even get put in that exclusive forum.

I should be up to the community on what gets moved. They play it. They judge it fairly.

Outstanding Mods has been neglected in the past. We're currently discussing ways to get it back to a decent status with appropriate content.

Hey just got back from holiday's
I say vote on outstanding let the people who download and play call it.
If not we need to make sure that each mod is looked at, play tested and scored on its merits and have some form of rating or scoring that reflects this then we all know where to pitch the ball.
But in fairness to everyone each mod is outstanding and has merits that other's don't.
This is a comunity remember.
Ive been away from modding 2 years and have looked forward to comming back on the scene with Nighty2 for nearly 5 months while i play catch up with all the progress thats been made.
So If Nighty2 gets outstanding or not really doesnt matter its that people download it, play it and feedback so at least i can keep learning and improving.
On top of that I am always happy to help anyone with anything.

Voting would be a complicated system, as each person would have to have a poll or something. Then again, it would remove this type of problem. On the other hand, if people were forced to choose between "Put in Outstanding" or "Don't," they would probably want to say put it there, because they liked it. Just because someone likes a mod doesn't make it outstanding. It would be something that would need to be heavily discussed before implementing such a system.

I'd also like to make it clear that it is not a competition to see who can get in Outstanding, it should be a friendly community, as MrMurder alluded to.

2 years ago i left the mod scene for many reason's. Mainly due to the way alot of the people here behaved (cuz im old remember) and it struck me that the sense of comunity spirit was lost from back in the halo 1 days.
I was hoping that now im back things would have changed but unfortunatly i see it hasnt and im dissapointed in all honesty.
This whole comunity seems divided and unable to pull together in what i believe it was created for the celebration and creation of modded halo and halo 2 maps for the enjoyment of all, instead its everyone for themselves glory hounds rather than glory days.
come on
sort it out guys its not what we are all about.....................is it?

Big deal, if something makes outstanding and something else doesn't. At the end of the day, it's not hurting anyone... it's the internet for christ sake...

as I was saying to MrMurder on msn, you dont mod for fame, you mod for fun.

So in all honesty I think the outstanding sectio should be removed, and all of the in Halo 2 Downloads. Besides outstanding mods doesnt get many hits compared to download.

Leave it. It gives people a good motivation to do better with their mods, and to see what others have done to better mod and change the game.

The reason why outstanding mods doesn't get as many hits is because it's updated less. Plus because most recent "outstanding" worthy mods are not added to this section it gives people less of a reason to visit it.
