Well, on the second article, the date is, October 6, 2007. Which means that the map appeared pretty polished less than a month after the game released.

As was obvious from the weekly updates. That's not some new revelation. However, "polished" is certainly not the word to describe it. It is very obviously still in heavy development in those images.

In fact, I see no differences to the actual model on the right.

But in said campaign, the walkways are much shorter and connected to an outer platform, which doesn't appear to be visible in the image. In addition, I can't imagine a practical reason for having a 3+ year old map open.

Because that's how they start remakes etc.
