Film Saving

It's obvious that the beta has the video saving ability, however limited it may be. My question would be, besides being able to share your video's with other beta users...you upload it to the bungie server. So, is there any way to get that from the server on your computer? I'd like to save my films on my computer but I'm not sure that's possible.
(it would be much better than my half assed capture card).

They aren't actually saved films, they're more of a collection of data that creates a live re-inaction of whatever game you saved. It basically says that X player was doing Y action while holding Z gun and the like...it's not an actual video. Kinda hard to explain, but to answer your question in short, no, you can't get them on to your computer.
(technically, you can get the film's file onto your computer, but it won't do you much good)

Gametag is correct. If it recorded videos in HD lasting anywhere from 5 to 15 minutes, you'd fill up your hard drive in no time. They are just collections of data which take up about 5-10 MB. The game takes the data and generates a game in real time, within the engine. If it was just a video, you wouldn't be able to do third person, view from other people's perspectives, etc. (In the full game, the beta is only your perspective)

Ya, just like command and conquer replays (although they are only like <1mb somehow)
I think its pretty awesome though. Pity RVB supposedly finishes soon so it can't make use of the full version
I'm still slightly confused about this. I've always been a big fan, and I recall the post about the 100th episode being the end of the Blood Gulch Chronicles, but that post was made on April 1st. Was there something after that that would verify it was not an April Fools Day joke? I was unable to find anything about it. Granted, I didn't dig through the forums, but there certainly wasn't any front-page news about it after April 1st. Assuming it is true, they're doing the same thing Bungie is. They're saying it's the end of the Blood Gulch Chronicles, not the end of Red vs. Blue (Much as Bungie says that Halo 3 is the end of Master Chief's story arc).
but no, no pcness unless you have halo engine on your pc to decipher it

If I were you I would buy a good capture card if you want to save videos. Unless Bungie implements something into Halo 3 that will convert it to a video for you, then send it directly to you computer. (Which they probably won't)

No cash at the moment. I may get a better one. My current will have to do. Though easy to think of...I came up with the idea that:
I'll play the data inbeta and have my CC recording while I watch it. Unfortunately, it won't be as good quality but it gets the job done.

I'm not going anywhere for a while.

As for the videos, the saving data idea is quite nice.

Yeah I was wondering about that when we saved a so called "video" of me and another friends battle with each other online. Guess we cannot get it. But we did record with my cell phone a little lol, I am the person on the bottom screen in the last two clips with High Ground, and yes I sounded show offy but what do you expect my first time playing XBL and Halo 3 at the same time....

Yeah I know but it was the only way to capture lol, now if it was a razer v3 XX like zach's it would have been a little better.

Good job, but the thing is they are in the small bits of data but for all we know the format could be like .png is for images smaller and better. Try the program called Total Video converter, you can use trial but it leaves an emblem in video....or just get banned for illegal stuff...whichever feels right to you. the converter might have a shot at it.

The
Film
Files
Are
Not
Videos
They
Are
A
Bunch
Of
Data
Jesus. Please read before you do this stuff. They are collections of data that are used to RECREATE THE GAME IN THE ENGINE. Without the engine, you can not turn it into a video. There is no way to do it.
It is not a video file, it is data.

I suggest you take down that video, it's extremely pointless and misleading.
You're not the first either...it's absolutely nothing to be proud of. They will never be able to be viewed unless someone makes a mock version of the Halo 3 engine. It's just not going to happen.
Also, your voice annoys me.

just like the world, pff what doya figure this is the internet 70% chance of running into major well you know..
Oh and from there choose mjpeg AVI, because if it has opened it so far then that means the program supports that file, then when its in the program press play to the right and see if it plays, you may have a chance of these 4 things to happen...
1.Video Works completely-might be HD or not who cares
2.Might get audio and not video
3.Might get video and not audio
4. may get nothing at all.

They are in no way a video. No converter is going to fix that. The files just tell the engine to place X character with weapons Y/Z at location A performing action B, and to spawn effects C/D/E, with destroyed Warthog F at location G (etc etc).
