This has been known for a really, really long time.

Also, I'd love to see you "put it on" - It's not big enough to wear, it's about the size of a cat's head.

I preordered Legendary Edition from Best Buy when it was priced at $100, so I got mine for that price.

I'm buying the Legendary Edition because of the other extra features and the very snazzy box art. I was more impressed by the Gears collector's edition tin design/extras than I was by the game to be honest...Lost Planet had a pretty impressive box too.

Although mainly, I want to see the Halo 1 and 2 cutscenes rendered in the Halo 3 engine (I think that's on the bonus DVD...), should be sweet. :)

I canceled my Legendary Edition reservation a few months ago due to my lack of interest in games anymore. However, if I had kept it, I would have canceled due to the outrageous price on it. That's like buying a 130 dollar pair of shoes or pants. Although, I did get it early so the price would have been lower for me; I still think it is way overpriced.

And also:

I blame canada, george bush, terrorism, saddam, the Jewish, Christianity, Grand Theft Auto, desensitised violence in society, the free world, Microsoft, conformist apple iPod users, third world poverty, south park and the media, just to name a few, for the pricing behind the Australian Ultimate Helmet edtion of Halo3...
$199.95

I can buy two or possibly 3 games for that price...And I can't even wear the helmet! I'll just wait for youtube videos to be uploaded... Plus, whilst I'm hoping halo 3 will be good its not worth sacrificing potentially 2 more games...

The limited edition is what I'll be purchacing, $115, which is a bit better as I get some more content but not paying a big load ($200 :?)

Why the fuck do we get a hard deal? We are not even a large gaming market yet we pay such prestigious pricing on everything... Ps3 here is $1000 which converts to 799.95 US and yet, you guys pay 599 for the ps3 (this is the same ultimate version)...

Region coding and little people who think that people will always think ebay is cheaper than retail....Only to find the opposite...

But we shall see...

Considering Legendary Edition is going to be limited edition and individually numbered, there's a 99.9% chance that it will be much more expensive on eBay, due to likely shortages in supply. Bungie said some of their employees were preordering because the supply isn't enough to guarantee one for each employee there.

I really hope they're being serious about that. Every LE I've bought, I could go pick up right now if I really wanted to.

I'd assume they're not going to stock Legendary Editions...just ship them in the initial shipping for pre-orders?

I think they may be exaggerating, but I'm sure it will be in a much shorter supply than other games.

You sure? I preordered mine from Gamestop at the begining of last November for 100, but I got a call about a week ago saying they raised the price to 130, so I need to pay up. Maybe they'll raise it for you too Tural :(

Derek,

I am Sherry with Best Buy Customer Care.

I understand your concern about the price change for the Halo 3
Legendary Edition preorder.

One great benefit for those who pre-order an item on BestBuy.com, if
the price is higher at the time of shipment , we will honor the price
that you originally paid for.
We will be sending you email
notifications in case there would be changes on your order.

Sketch's update.

An excerpt:
"Given the scale and magnitude of the Halo 3 launch and demand exceeding 450,00 units"
> 450,000 Legendary Edition copies it would seem.
