Halo 3 Beta Impressions

I think High Ground is on Earth but Snowbound sure isn't (a planet is in the background), and Valhalla? Odd... I don't think they would leave out the Halo in Beta Stage so I doubt it's from a Halo.

High Ground is in New Mombasa after the slipspace jump destroyed the city.

Halo 3's primary setting is Earth, as most of the official information is surrounding Earth. Valhalla could very well be on Earth too, although it's more like a Halo-setting map.

I'm pretty certain it's not Bungie's fault, it's more of a Live problem thing.

People are so stupid. You should see the stuff they're posting on Bungie.net.

One example: there has been an out break ever since the so called "beta" came out. there has been 6 recorded suicides in north america in the last 3 hours. now the regualar rate of suicides in the world is 1-5 suicides in the world daily. and you will see the regular yearly rate of suicides on any regular pack of smokes. the point im trying to prove is that it just so happens that this morning there was a record of 6 suicides. ( usually i dont make stupid points like this up but since i couldn.t play HALO 3 THIS MORNING i just watched the news. for those who want to read up on all the suicides u can access this information at www.cnn.com.........its probably just a coincidence but 6 suicides in one morning is americas new record and i thinks its just histarical to think bungie could of been the cause of one of these deaths.

I stayed up until 5am, got the beta and played 1 game before I had to get some sleep and I was very impressed. The AR is the perfect starting weapon IMO. I can't wait to finish what I have to do today so I can play a lot more

I love it. The graphics are true to Halo and are great. Valhalla isn't so much though, I think it needs a reskin (By me or chad would be good

).
Its very fast fluid and everything.
The only thing that really needs changing is the laser. Its an awesome weapon and balanced, but I just don't understand why the laser shoots 7 projectiles. To me it looks unprofessional, I think a beam (sentinal beam halo2 style would be great) would look much better and more suited to such a thing. But seeing as they've made the sentinal beam before, I'm positive the laser will change.

I downloaded with Crackdown. Just clear your cache, load Crackdown, it will install an update, and then the button will be enabled. And it all works for me.

I've played about five games and I'm really enjoying it so far. I haven't run into any screaming 12 year olds yet. Everyone's been a good sport so far.
