LIVE windos gold died because of steam?
hey did anyone know the reason why gold for pc died did vavle shut it down because of steam
No.
It did not compete adequately with its other, free, competitors. They were not forced to change anything. That's really all there is to it. Lack of support for the system caused them to alter it to maintain a userbase. There's no secret force making it free, Microsoft just did it because they felt that they couldn't maintain the system if they couldn't get an larger subscription set. Why would a developer want to develop under a system in which very few people play? Surely that developer would go somewhere where they can get more exposure and users, such as a free system, like Steam. It's all common sense, really.
