Halo 2 problem

Ok so i got and installed Vista Home premium 64-bit yesterday along with halo 2. So far the only issue i have with vista is that my 10 year old sound card doesnt work, but my onboard sound works with vista(and not xp?) so that problem is crunched but i have a new problem. In Halo 2 for windows Vista I have terrible mouse lag, its like mapping an analogue stick to a mouse(approx 30 ms delay) and my mouse should only have 1 ms delay, so is there a fix to this mouse lag, i herd that it mabey because my framerate is to high so i tried forcing Vsync on and that didnt work, so is there a file i have to edit? Thx in advance!

bump, i take it there is no solution, adding -novsync to the shortcut command line helped with the lag but now the speed is inconsistent

Put your detail low or medium.
or lower the resolution.
or Run in window-mode at the lowest resolution and run low or medium detail.

alright ill give it a try

edit: windowed mode did the trick, thanks, but, if I leave the Halo 2 window then re-enter it the framerate skyrockets and the aim fudges up again
