Mouse aiming extremely slow and jerky?

Well, I have the XBox360 controller and it works like a charm. But on my PC I prefer playing with mouse and keyboard. The mouse aiming is not very smooth at all. It feels to slow somehow and when making it faster, it still is kind of jerky, it's hard to explain. Like it was made for a joypad and nothing else. I'd like it to be like the Halo 1 PC controls. Is there any setting I overlooked?
Thanks in advance for any ideas.

Holy heck. There's your problem probably, plus you might get banned because we don't support H2V on XP.

This is a Vista problem as well. H2v uses mouse acceleration and it can't handle very high or low framerates.
If you're getting a high framerate but jerky mouse movement, you need to crank up some settings in your Nvidia Control Panel to help reduce the framerate, but hey, you'll have nicer visuals anyway.

I am sorry, I did not know this was not supported by this forum, you can close this threat now. Also the problem has been solved - I played Halo 1 PC a little more these days and it looks like my memory was playing a trick when playing Halo 2 - the controls are basically the same. Halo 1 too has that feeling for me now

Ok, it is in fact still too slow - NOT jerky anymore that's ok - it is just way too slow. I need to drag the mouse over half my desk to make the chief turn. Any ideas? Are you just living with this issue? Renders the game nearly unplayable for me

No, this problem remains in Vista as well. It has to do with the game, not the operating system. But I guess we better stop here. Thanks for the advice.
