OK. Latest skin that i done... took about 3 days of work on and off, what do you think?

Its in .ppf format so just patch it to the bitmaps.map, if anyone wants the actual bitmaps just ask and il post them up as well

pics... (one good quality one... and the others)

Wait, so your not allowed to post edited .dds files as a download? I thought you just couldn't post original .dds files? That's kinda dumb, you have to have a .ppf for one bitmap?

Distributing the clean bitmaps is illegal.

giving out stock bungie content is illegal since the work is copyrighted. when you make your own skin your modding their original content and not offering what is copyrighted. this is a touch and go subject but the staff on halomods have always remained clear that nothing stock/original from any halo series is to be offered on these forums since they know 100% that the stock/original material is copyrighted.

So wait, say if you just took a warthog skin and changed it from its greenish color and made it red, and that's ALL you did, would it still be considered illegal?

You don't need to .ppf a bitmap, you can simply take the .dds and put it in a RAR/ZIP file and then upload it.

well what is bungie afraid of though? is somebody gonna try to steal a bunch of files and bitmaps so they can completely assemble their own halo game from scratch so that they don't have to pay 20 bucks to best buy?

You can not distribute original bitmaps, or modified bitmaps (Which these are). You can distribute completely custom bitmaps.

So editing bitmaps is illegal? Time to shut down the site... Editing a bitmap and posting it is similar to editing a map and posting it. If you're saying that we can't edit and release, all modding except modeling custom maps and giving them custom textures, and populating with only custom scenery, weapons, and vehicles, all made from scratch, would be illegal. If that were true, this site wouldn't exist...

Allright.... thanks for the comments on the skin???

so let me get this straight... according to Tural, we can leegally post up a .ppf patch to patch onto the bitmaps because, someone would need the bitmaps or else it would be completely useless? but... we are not allowed to post edited versions of the origional bitmaps...if thats true, people might either have to get used to using .ppf patchs or this site aint gunna run too well if most of the stuff on here is illeagle...
people have been posting edited bitmaps on here before and this is the first i have heard about it being illeagle.

Well I know I tried to post edited bitmaps of a warthog in dds and they got rid of my attachment and said I had 24 hours to upload a patch file. They never got rid of it though I think because it also had a tutorial on how to do some other things too.

they don't say anything about PMing dds files though do they?
