this folder for halo CE C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Halo Custom Edition\maps ummmm this is a Halo PC mod I beleive, not a Halo CE Mod. Screw the hands, that's not what I cared about, I wasn't trying to move the gun into his left hand. Note that animations just control what vertices move, where they move and when they move. I think he's another one of those Halo CE Fanboys. I'm sure there's a way to mirror all the animations without using Max. You don't need to extract. Just open the map file itself, it's in there, and then screw around with the coordinates of the vertices or points, they've gotta be stored as a value ...

So far, there is no way to change animations in Halo PC. Someone that is very very smart would need to create a plugin for the Animation Trigger tag in HMT that would allow you to somehow export the animations... In whatever file format they are in... and then we'd need to find some kinda program on...
