Video Tutorial: Make 3D screenshots and videos using Halo 3
This is the first Infectionist Video Tutorial. I download Camtasia Studio and it works amazingly, I think I'll keep using it. In this tutorial I go over how to make both 3D images and 3D videos using Photoshop and Sony Vegas. Check it out: http://infectionist.com/tutorials/video_tutorials-stereoscop...

Re: Compositing in Halo 3
Scotty, it's supposed to go off into the distance making it harder to read. They all say the same thing, or a variation on it: Infectionist Machinima. mxrider, my plan is to have the camera slowly move forward through those hallways or along a wall, and attach the text to that wall. It'll move in on...

Re: How to Modify Forge Maps [Tutorial]
which, before you ask, is impossible for someone who doesn't have a devkit since you can't as of yet run unsigned code on a retail xbox 360.
Just throwing that out there.

Re: Compositing in Halo 3
Yeah I don't really like how the reflections turned out in the second one, but it took long enough to render that I didn't want to waste it. I had reflection dispersion set to 17.5% with 128 min samples and 256 max samples (default is 8 and 64) and accuracy up to 100% (default is 50%). That and the ...

Re: Compositing in Halo 3
I personally think the first one is the worst. Look at the perspective of the wall it's on, then the perspective of the text, they don't match up. The second and third match that perspective much better. Of all of them I like the 3rd one the best, it's the one I spent the most time on. I hope to use...

Re: Modding Discussion
Open one of the cutscene files from the game disk and play it. It'll play with no dialog, just the background sound. I wasn't researching the cutscenes, I was researching how to get the dialog out of the sounds.pck file. Since that's impossible as of now, I went back to have a look at the .bik files...

Compositing in Halo 3
Compositing is the process of adding something into an image or video that wasn't there originally. Most commonly used in Hollywood movies where things in the movie would obviously not exist in real life. They use computer graphics to insert that object into the scene. I went ahead and tried my hand...

Re: Gamerpic modding
So...is the only way humanly possible to packet intercept? As far as we know, at least. I mean, there must be SOME way. I tried tricking the avatar editor and disconnecting after I'd already gotten into the screen to take a picture...it just backed me out. I was thinking I might actually take the pi...

Re: Custom Xbox 360 Themes?
Does it only work with things like themes, or would it work for gamerpictures, movies, maps, everything?
And it's not just as simple as changing the first 4 bytes from LIVE to CON and rehashing/resigning, is it?

Re: Halo 3 Retail Game Research
See you still don't really get it. I know the smallest possible amount about coding, so opening a program that I don't understand and trying to use it to follow a file I don't understand...tell me how that works?

Re: Halo 3 Retail Game Research
I got plenty of help here, I figured out how to do what I needed. Listen, what you probably don't remember (or maybe you do) is that everyone starts somewhere. Some people can't just DO the research, they have to ask questions. It's utterly useless for me to do the research if I don't know what I'm ...

And what if you're disconnected from XBL when you save the avatar pic? Does itget saved to your xbox til you later connect? If so...then might I be onto something? Edit: Let me try to explain. You disconnect and take the picture. Transfer your profile over to your computer and change the picture. Re...

Re: Halo 3 Retail Game Research
No there aren't though...no one helps me there. It took me weeks to get someone to help me figure out what I was doing wrong changing my original xbox's harddrive...turns out I was loading the app from the wrong dashboard, that was it. People at least reply here, helping me figure it out on my own. ...

Re: Halo 3 Retail Game Research
I'm interested in a lot of different things. I always have some project or other going on, be it modeling, cutscenes, modding, or some other thing. I need help with those things and I ask here because people here know the most about it. I've asked other places as well, like se7ensins and xbox-scene,...

Re: Modding Discussion
So...turns out there is sound embedded in the cutscene files on the game disk. The files are in .bik format, for Rad Game Tools. If you open up Rad and look at the file info for one of the cutscene files there are 4 audio tracks. Track 0 is a stereo version of the background sounds Track 1 is a mono...
