Yeah, I know the old version is seriously rough around the edges, but then again, I was only 15 when I wrote the thing... I did the roadmap for the new version last night - it's going to be a loooong road to get to 1.0, but it looks hopeful (I'm trying to make it all as generic as possible, so it co...

As far as running a HaloCE Ded and Client on the same machine goes, I think it's possible. Just start the ded and then manually connect to 127.0.0.1 in the client. Failing that, manually add yourself another IP address and run the ded one one and the client on the other. or.. if your PC is fast enou...

Any feature requests, etc, should go to: hse@daniel-ross.com I'll be blogging about how HSE is progressing at: http://www.daniel-ross.com/phiCode Cuban Legend - I cant remember how to fix that error - if you have VB6 installed, put that error cod...

If I still had the source code, I could probably help you out, but it's long been lost... But... good news... Tonight I've started planning a new version of HSE, written in .NET, as a windows service. Planned features so far: - Kick, Ban, etc. voting - Map voting - Map Cycle - Admins identified by C...

If I remember correctly (and it is a longshot), the Chars value is how many chars to parse from the above key (count the chars in the commands, and it should come to 218). Just edit the file and change that value accordingly. When I get some free time (hopefully in a few weeks), I'll def have a look...

For those that don't know me, I joined way back in the days even before HMT and all that jazz, although I never really became an active member until I started developing tools (like HaloConnect, to auto-download and apply PPFs to maps for HaloPC), which enjoyed some limited success. Now it seems I'm...

pfffft, and to think that people around here used to actually value sensible input to an (admittedly old) topic...

OK, I don't check this place so often anymore, but when did it become so hostile?!

Actually, HSE was a totally seperate project, and a coupe of other guys and myself were the authors. It's pretty dead now, but I am toying with the idea of updating it to C# in my free time. I'm sure theres still an installation package for it hanging around on levels4you or somewhere. If you still ...

works fine for me,
XPPro SP2, fully updated
on an AMD Sempron @ 1.2GHz,
with 780MB of DDR 400MHz ram,
Latest DX

And my PC is the most unstable on ein the world... so having it running is quite an achievement :)

Well, there's always plugin support if you wanted to code a plugin. Saves you time writing all the stuff we had to write to parse logfiles and stuff....

The ModuleDevKit will be out soon...

I know. It does state in the readme that it is designed for 2k/XP.

This is because it uses SAPI 5 to announce MOTD's. 2k and XP come with SAPI5, older versions don't. I'll be releasing a 98/me build soon, which dosn't use MS sam to communicate. Until then, its SAPI5 enabled OS's only :D

New release

I've just uploaded a new 0.1.2 build. This one is called Predator. From the ChangeLog: 0.1.1a -> 0.1.2a ================ - MS SAM is dead (almost - he still announces server MOTD) - sv_say now used to announce votes - Netcode was significantly changed. now dosnt loose clients - Added idiot-proof (no...

(Halo 1)Utility: MVS (MapVotingSystem)

MVS for HaloCE/PC ============= NOTE: this is a public ALPHA - thats pre-beta. It WORKS, but there's a LOT of unimplemented features. Currently only works with Windows 2k/XP, or 98/me if you have SAPI5 installed. MVS is the Map Voting System for HaloCE and PC. It allows clients to vote for a new map...
