Extract them using HMT and convert it from a DDS to a .tif. Then just add it into the material editor in 3ds max. In the HEK tutorial it shows you how to texture your map. The tutorial should be in your Halo Custom Edition folder. Where exactly are the textures located in the resource browser (HMT)?

Total Noob Question
I'm totally new to modeling, mapping, modding, etc... I was wondering how you can convert a halo map (.map) into a 3d model (.3ds)?
