What's the problem with getting no HUD?

Are people just having difficulties with the earlier levels since SP levels can't be rebuilt? If you use BOLL's lesser HUD and make yourself a Sentinel there's no HUD besides the red arrow 'hit' indicators, objectives, and nav points... so are we just trying for the earlier levels now (and Keyes, I ...

Heh, I'm discussing modding, not forum vocabulary. :p

I mean like the olden days, when people would 'bump' an Elite and become it. I know can just make the MC an Elite and start out that way, but how would I do it in-game?

Modding the UI

So I changed some bitmaps and stuff and tried to inject them using HMT3, it told me they must be DXT1. I had saved them as DXT1 in photoshop, and tried the other DXT1 options and stuff... no go. What am I doing wrong?

Bumping and FRG w/ Grunt

1. How do I bump something?

2. I tried making myself a Grunt and then using the FRG... didn't work. So, can someone tell me if I'm just doing something wrong or if it's just not possible at all?

Exception Error on Restart?

Whenever I go to restart game I get an exception error. What would cause this? I'm guessing it has something to do with my replacing the 'drip' scenery in Damnation with gun turrets... Has replacing scenery with vehicles cause this for anyone else?
