HaloMods "Classic" Read-only Archive

What is the difference between using these two tools? Also, which do you guys prefer to use? Thanks for any help.

i do use photoshop but i heard from a website when the box comes up about the mip maps you should click no. this makes the picture appear once. when i click yes it does come up a buncha times. also is there an eaiser way so that i dont have to go outline each picture over and over?

whenever i fill a section with the paintbucket and go into the game, i see the color from one angle, but when i move it disappears. can someone tell me what im doing wrong? thanks.

im a total newb to skinning and whatnot. i have photoshop and the .dds plugin and messed around a little bit. i change colors and simple things like that but can you guys give me some tips on some cool patterns and stuff like that? any help at all would be appreciated.
