Exactly what I was talking about, all those things are referenced in the scenario which can be edited in Guerilla, removing the tags you do not have. After fixing or deleting tags you can then open the map in Sapien.

If you try to build the map with missing weapons, scenery etc... it makes references to them in the error message before it fails. I am talking about building the map file. It will not give you exactly what is wrong with the tag (like missing model, bitmaps, animations, etc...) but you should get a ...

Go into tool and try to build the map, if you have missing tags it will tell you. You can then open the scenario in Guerilla and remove the paths to the tags you do not have. Also if it is the lightmap that is messed up delete it remove the path from the bsp in Guerilla and create a new lightmap. Th...

The sky tag affects how dark or bright the map is. You either need to use a different sky or change the radiosity levels in the sky tag you are using. Do not know about the HPC maps, but if your lightmap is still messed up delete it and open the bsp in guerilla and delete the path to the lightmap and run radiosity for a new one.

You can optimize it manually or use the modifier, either way it usually just gets rid of useless polys depending on the settings you place on the modifier.

Did you ge the problem fixed and how many polys is the map anyway?

Set the spawns to all game types and see if that helps, unless you already have them set on that. Also you could just delete the spawns and try new ones.

By making it smaller did you just scale it down? Also how many polys does the map have. If you just scaled it, you could try optimizing it, but you would have to redo the uvw mapping. Just a thought, but if you think it is too big try to import the sky model you are using and see if your map is bigger than the sky model. The sky models I think are very large in scale, but I do not know I have never compared one to a map I was just throwing it out there. Like I said just a thought...

I think you might be searching for the wrong thing, it is milkshape and don't bother because I believe it is also a trial, and to me it sucks in comparison to gmax. Halo cubemap creation and editing.

As I have stated in the Readme, this is not my idea, Thanks to who ever discovered it. I am just trying to help a few people out and need to post an image and tag for them. The Readme is pretty self explanatory if you want to create a cubemap.

Inferno nailed it, when Sapien does that it most likely because something in the tag is missing. For example the model for the sky tag you are using could have been moved or deleted. Either pick a different sky or find out what is wrong with the one you have.

Actually I have had that error a few too many times. Your smoothing groups are jacked up, not sure exactly what you can't do with the smoothing groups, but I am sure that is your problem.

Custom maps are for Halo CE, If you have Halo PC then you can download Halo CE for free, the maps will work only with Halo CE unless you convert them to PC. Just find the Halo CE download to go the easier route.
