what if i put them as actv on the side of a tank and flipped the tank?

i got ai into a map , following the tut by john and it worked now i want to insert a charecter but when i tried to it didnt work can any1 help me( note i tried to shoot the elite out of a plasma pistol) it worked but it didnt run around and the model was screwed up
