Re: System link / 4-Player Coop For Halo 1

I was hoping that the bsp switching issues were due to a bug in engine, since SP wasn't designed for >2 people, however this doesn't seem to be the case. :| The fact that 3/4 people can play without much trouble on a single xbox, i.e. things only fall apart over system link, leads me to believe that...

Re: System link / 4-Player Coop For Halo 1

Having taken a look at the SP scripts, I've got a theory for explaining (and fixing) the bsp-switch desync issues. It needs some testing first to confirm, so once I get my xbox back (Sunday) I'll post an update with my findings.

Ah, I see, thanks for the link.

As you haven't released any code/docs I shall carry on with my app. :)

Script Decompiling

I've been working on decompiling the single player scripts for a few days now. Turns out Halo 1 scripts are pretty similar to Halo 2 scripts, so I was able to use most of the Halo 2 script docs. I thought I'd share what I've got so far in case anyone else is interested. It's quite fascinating readin...

Re: Community Challenge: "Fix HaloMods"

Unfortunately I wouldn't be able to achieve that, as I'm pretty sure I'd require phpMyAdmin access, which I don't have. I'm thinking it would be possible with a little creative code inside of phpbb's style.php. I.e. check the HTTP_HOST server var and switch which css file is served based on that. A...

Re: Hex Workshop Help

You have to make the structure files yourself, by hand. If you really want to know how look at the help file that comes with Hex Workshop.

But seriously, just code up something to do what you want, it'll be far better.

No, Xbox disks aren't going to work in your computer, they are special and can only be read by an Xbox.

Also, nice bump to a completely irrelevant topic.

I bought one of the sub-domains, so I'd consider a matching @halomods.com email address... what sorta pricing are you thinking though?

Re: Ads: a compromise.

As has been said countless times before, do NOT click ads unless you are genuinely interested in the advertised product. It's way too easy to get an adsense account suspended. Anyway, has SG said anything about JacksonCougAr's original proposal here? I haven't seen it if he has. Donating a reasonabl...

Re: Ads: a compromise.

It's pretty cheap to just keep several gigs of data lying around on disk anyway.

What would be more important is how much bandwidth is being used hosting all those files.

But I don't think bandwidth is a terribly major issue, SG just wants to recoup his investment on the server hardware.

Re: Hex Workshop Help

You might be able to achieve something like that using the structure support in hex workshop, although I'm not too sure about that.

Easiest way would be to just code an app for it. It'd probably only take about 20 lines of code for something so simple.

Just wanted to say I've had success using CGIProxy in the past. http://www.jmarshall.com/tools/cgiproxy/ Probably a little more complicated to set up and use than PHProxy but seems to get better results. Works with https & facebook too, or at least it used to work with the old facebook, haven't ...

Xbox SP>MP Conversion Tutorial using Arsenic v1.0.1.0

Xbox SP>MP Conversion Tutorial using Arsenic Note: This is a very quick-n-dirty method, it's basically just ripping out the existing MP bsp and sticking a SP bsp in its place. Prerequisites Arsenic (v1.0.1.0 is the latest at time of writing, but older versions will probably work fine). A tag collec...
