Been generally being a useless lazy good fer nothin. Haven't made a model in weeks, almost missing Halomods (almost) and then realizing when this goes back up that I reeeaallly hate this place. What I really did was get more into theorums politics and plans. Playing XBL, yeah baby yeah! Oh yeah... g...

Looks alot more Human! Two things: Lots of smoothing causes lag in Halo, and Halo will only permit a bit of it. A good enough texture will cover up any hard edges. Or at least I think so... :? I read here once that Max has up to 32 smoothing available but Halo only permits around 20 - 25. If you are...

Jeez wow that's pretty good partick! Those look like real mountains! Two more questions, what do you mean by boolean making bad geometry? Like, what does it cause? For using the displacement modifier, how do you use it? What colors mean what depth? I can't check it out now as I'm at my grandparent's...

Yeah I remembered Katarn's thing about halfway through. I use boolean alot, I use it to place vert's that can be arranged into a shape. Boolean is the only way I know to get a hole in an angled face. Most models don't have an un-nescessary square sitting on them. They usually get optimzed out. Well ...

Booleaning for dummies
Well I figured since no one knows how to boolean I would put together a quick tutorial. First create a shape to be cut through, cut away from, etc. This can be anything, even your model. http://img61.imageshack.us/img61/5305/screen019he.jpg Now make the shape you want to cut away with. This shape ca...

Yeah I know noise just plain sucks. Plane modeling? So you would have to do alot of etruding edges and moving vert's around right? You would be able to create a face with the displacement thing right? Also, I just spent 4 HOURS working on a scene, and my fucking cousins come and unplug my power chor...

Quote: I don't mean any ofense to you though. The design sucks, the model is good (despite being made from primitves) . It's a box on legs... And snaf, I make my own designs, I make what I like. I don't make stuff from Tv shows and such because most of the junk on there looks lame. Like star gate SG...

Modeling curvey surfaces?
Well I'm trying to get into terrain modeling and character modeling, but the way I usually do things doesn't really produce good results. What would be a good way to model a very curvey surface? Like a face or hilly terrain? BTW what's a spline? I hear it all the time but no one ever mentions what i...

Patrick why the junk would you do that? Mechassault's map's sucked (apart from river city), and there would be nothing original in it. Just a copy of something that's already been made. As for the map I say go for it. But why did you have to draw in CRAYON? It's hard to read and looks childish! How ...

Nvm, must have loaded funny... Snaf had posted something like a URL or something... was confusing. The sights on the barrel aren't for sighting, they're for decoration. I didn't put much thought into them, just put them there. The cannons, I removed BTW. Well I worked on it a bit today (5 hours?) an...
