Yup, since it's not plasma, but a particle accelerator. It's probably more like a railgun that starts with a plasma projectile and speeds it through the long barrel.

It's his first model; first models usually look crappy. (no offense) Also, it looks professional...And I've never seen any sign that he could have done this; unless he's learned how to model on a different forum. Also, it's textured...Usually you only texture after you're done modelling, and I think...
