oh as in a shock effect?

You can try the linkedXform animation Modifier with a small 2x2x2 box and link the vertices to the box. Then when you move the box your linked vertices will move along with it.

Though it really depends on how the RBD setup is in the physics engines.

Wow looks very nice , Thought too high polygon for Halo as it looks. Looks about right for Half Life 2.

This Ak-74 I modeled for Half life 2 was 3300 polygon.

Nice attention to detail. Though one thing that eats at me is the prefire tab. The little tab on the left side of the gun , It should mold into the gun and shouldn't be just a flat out cylinder pushing through the mesh. Other than that it is very nice , Good job. That is going to be a bitch to unwrap.
