Re: Emblem Discussions

Well, this is an interesting situation. Here's my version of how things went. For all those complainers out there: I asked IF numerous times in a very friendly manner to help me out with the emblem system (before the relaunch ), but he told me that it was my site and my problem now, and that he didn...

Re: Site Complaints and Future of HM

Long Story Like Tural said, it's been three days. You can't seriously expect us to implement any changes in such a timespan. I told you on AIM one day ago that I was busy and would look into things next week, and now you come on to the forum and post this? You're demanding instant changes, while at...

In fact, don't click the ads at all unless you're really interested! If google closes my account we're off alot worse.

Re: Site Complaints and Future of HM

I don't mean a section...I mean full Blown. Slash out the Halo and make It Half ( ok...maybe not that >_>) Its very radical...but what else are we going to do? I like that wiki Idea, but We are in a rock and a hardplace. Then again by now there are probably already dedicated places for that. Why sh...

Re: Site Complaints and Future of HM

The reason Geo's site did well was because he released a unique bit of content there. Had he released it on HaloMods, the activity would have been here. Just creating a seperate website isn't going to boost activity by itself. Things need to be jump started by some modders interested in taking on so...

Re: Site Complaints and Future of HM

We already have a subsection for the Source engine, but activity in there is minimal. Same goes for the other 'new' subsections. How can we boost activity there?

Re: Site Complaints and Future of HM

It's clear what the general opinion on splitting off the off-topic boards is, so that's not going to happen. How about trying to focus more on the 'other modding' boards that we have. Activity there hasn't been great. Perhaps we could get the HaloMods users to pick up a new challenge, such as moddin...

Re: Site Complaints and Future of HM

well yes, I can see that some users would stop posting in the halomods section and some would stop posting in the cafe out of inconvenience. But if that is the only reason - convenience - is it such a big deal anyways? Like Aumaan said, we need some big changes to fix this and maybe take just accept...

Re: Site Complaints and Future of HM

Hmm, I disagree JacksonCougar. Take for example the GTA subforum on HaloMods. It would never be able to grow well as a subforum of HaloMods, because GTA fans don't care about Halo modding. As a seperate site, GTA fans would be more inclined to sign up there. The same goes for off-topic boards: Peopl...

Re: Site Complaints and Future of HM

I'll take the Wiki idea in consideration and see what can be done there. It sounds good: The information on halomods is not very well structured, although it is still the question how many people care for that information. I will also consider the suggestion of creating new subsites for for example ...

HaloMods Hosting & Subdomains

As per an excellent suggestion by xbox7887, I'm hereby opening up a HaloMods hosting and subdomain service. HaloMods Hosting means that you get 5 gigabytes of webspace on the HaloMods server. You can pick a subdomain of your choice to point to that directory, for example: SourceGuy.HaloMods.com. You...

How about you stop ordering us around, and stop making new topics for your posts when they should go in the existing topic.

Re: Site Complaints and Future of HM

Guys - you're suggesting I remove ads and start accepting donations, transfer the site, pay for it myself or simply shut the site down. These are all really second rate solutions to keep a small community going for a limited amount of time. My Ideals when I took the site over were these: I wanted to...

Re: Site Complaints and Future of HM

I would be willing to sponsor the website, but not under current management. I only make a limited fund every month but if the right administrator took over and things were improved I could sponsor for $10 every month. If there were enough people willing to sponsor the website each month for small ...

Re: Site Complaints and Future of HM

Ads simply aren't going to generate the desired revenue. That's most of the reason Gren had to give up the site, the ads don't work. Adding more of them isn't going to work either, it's just going to discourage members and if they aren't clicking on the current ads, what incentive do they have to c...

Site Complaints and Future of HM

It seems to me like some people on this website are hell-bent on complaining about everything they can, just for the sake of it. New forums, the cafepress shop, ads in between posts, inline ads: a few examples of things that caused a bunch of spam and unconstructive complaints. First of all, you are...

Re: HaloMods Store Contest - Discussion Thread

I've read some of your ideas, and I'm willing to change the rules a bit. Would you be willing to buy a HaloMods shirt if the HaloMods logo were incorporated in a larger design that focuses on something other than our logo - or perhaps a shirt that does not mention HaloMods at all? I will allow any k...

Thread cleaned. Criticism is good, but there is a difference between constructive feedback and complaining and whining. Let this the last warning to those who had their posts removed.

HaloMods Store Contest

As some of you may know, the ad revenue of HaloMods.com isn't exactly great. In order to raise some funds, and because it's just cool to be able to get HaloMods gear, I'm going to set up a new HaloMods cafepress shop. Since I pretty much suck at photoshopping, you guys get to make the designs for th...
