Don't rule out upgrading your laptop, it is possible to upgrade laptop graphics cards on certain models, but I believe that 8200 is infact an integrated chip, and thus are stuck with it foreverrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr...........

Seeing as it worked before and now it doesn't, try install it in safe mode? Disable UAC?

an HD 2600 is better than a 8600 fyi, if you spend aprox 20 more you can get a HD 3870(Other than the 9600GT there is no good cheap nvidia card)

Bump, a patch that fixes the mouse aiming by eliminating the lag and acceleration, making it more like the original Halo or Counter-Strike would be fantastic.

When i was working with Halo 2 on xp i got the map editor and the dedicated server installed.

edit: windowed mode did the trick, thanks, but, if I leave the Halo 2 window then re-enter it the framerate skyrockets and the aim fudges up again

bump, i take it there is no solution, adding -novsync to the shortcut command line helped with the lag but now the speed is inconsistent

nice find, but ive allways been able to max halo since i got it so it doesnt apply to me, but this would be great for silly ppl who buy prebuilts that have a decent processor, but that garbage intel graphics do-hicky(IntelGMA?)

Ok so i got and installed Vista Home premium 64-bit yesterday along with halo 2. So far the only issue i have with vista is that my 10 year old sound card doesnt work, but my onboard sound works with vista(and not xp?) so that problem is crunched but i have a new problem. In Halo 2 for windows Vista...

I herd its using Games for windows live, so modding may be more difficult, especially if its gonna go crossplatform.

buy a separate sound card, i had the same problem and just sais eff it and slapped in an old sound card

itll run halo just fine, but keep in mind that is a very low end card that can barely run doom 3 at medium settings, but if its just for halo then you should be fine, just dont play at ultra high resolutions but my personal opinion is that the card blows :lol: edit: also it only has a 64-bit bus wid...

open up task manager and see if there are any processes running that are hogging up your system's resources, also what are your pc's specs, there mabey a conflict with drivers

i uninstalled halo 2 otherwise i would have given this a try

I cant think of much so heres what I got:

1.mess with forge and make castles
2.steal a friends gold account
3.consider other games?
4.ask a relative to pick up a 12 month card or something
