[PC] Making Windows XP look like Vista

Making Windows XP look Like vista

Like the look of vista? But dont like the cost of the lack of abillity to run most modding programs? Well today im going to teach you how to make XP look like Vista

Things needed: To figure out what serves pack you are using press the Windows flag key+Pause/Break key.

Let me explain what you are about to do. Windows XP has a protection on the UXtheme.dll so you cant put customized themes on XP, what we are doing is replacing that file with a different UXtheme.dll allowing you to put custom themes on your computer.

Steps:

Open the zipped archive for either serves pack 1 or 2. Copy that file to your desktop
Image

Now right click on Start>Explore then locate this file C:\WINDOWS\system32\uxtheme.dll

Now open the Replacer.cmd: Ignor it says on this pic "No data file found," its becuse i have already done this.

- It will ask you for the orininal UXtheme.dll. So drag and drop your UXtheme.dll from C:\WINDOWS\system32\uxtheme.dll
- Now after that Drag and drop theUXtheme.dll from the UXtheme.dll file you copied to you desktop

Congratulations you have successfully replaced you UXtheme.dll file, this will now let you put custom themes on your Windows XP!

**Important ** Must reboot computer to take effect, so reboot your computer now

Now you should be reading this after you have rebooted your computer.

Now to get the theeme on your computer. Open the Vista Theeme:

Copy the whole Vistab2 folder to C:\WINDOWS\Resources\Themes

It should now look like this:

Now for the Last and fun part: Making it look like Vista!

Right click on your desktop>Properties>Appearance, then click on the drop down box for "Windows and Buttons" And change it to Vistab2
Image
Click Apply, and your done! Know if you want to make it look more like vista. download some cool Vista backgrounds.

No? I never said the apps would work did I? I just said a better way of having a PC look like it has Vista, not how to make every modding tool work on a legit real copy of it. Your post was completly irrelevant to my post buddy.
